This course is an introduction to the Award in Education and Training. The Award in Education and Training has replaced the old PTLLS qualification. This course is not the full Award in Education and Training as is aimed to help you through your course whether a distance or a classroom course.
You will need to register for a full course which is available from us or our sister company ITG Instructor Training who offer the Award in Education and Training level 3 at our Training Centre in Colchester Essex or onsite for larger groups. It is also offered as a distance/blended course where you can complete this course and you will have access to a virtual learning environment to complete the rest of your study. You will then attend one day in the classroom to complete your micro teach presentation and observe and give peer reports on others. This course is also a useful tool if you are studying with any other Awarding Body.
The full Award in Education and Training qualification satisfy the government requirement for teachers, trainers and tutors who need an initial award for their role as a teacher or trainer in the lifelong learning sector or those who want to teach in a Further Education College, Adult Learning Environment or be a trainer for a Learning Provider.
The course aim of this award is for those who are or want to be a teacher, tutor or trainer and need to be able to plan, prepare and provide learning for their specialist area.
All entrants need to have the personal and intellectual abilities to acquire the knowledge and understand the skills needed to gain this award. All entrants must be able to read effectively and communicate clearly and accurately in written and spoken standard English and have relevant qualifications within their own area of expertise.
Anyone can take this online course but for the full Award in Education and Training, the minimum age is 19 years old and completing our full Award in Education and Training qualifications, allow you to offer some of our ProTrainings classroom courses. When you complete the full course it also allows learners to commence their professional development within the teaching profession.
The course can be viewed on any device, so you can start the course on your computer and finish it on your smartphone or tablet.
On each page on the course, you can select text to read about the subject covered to support the video. You can also select to watch videos through our standard video player, direct from our site or by using YouTube player if you have any connection problems streaming the videos. This can be selected from underneath the video. Once you change settings, the whole course will be changed unless you change it again.
Once you have passed the test you can print off your completion certificate or at any time from the home page of this course where you can also print off your Certified CPD statement and the evidence-based learning statement.
With this course, there are many recourses and links to support your training and you can access these from the home page of this course. We are updating these recourses regularly, so have a look to see new material.

This course comes with 4.0 hours of CPD, although the time to complete the course online may be less than this. Total course time includes 2 hours and 18 minutes of video training as well as knowledge reviews, final test, remedial help and reviewing downloaded material.
The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
